How would you feel if that one person you could always count on- – that big brother you looked up to- – suddenly killed himself when you had no clue anything was even wrong?
As you struggle to try to understand why bullies would regularly physically and mentally torment the strong and kind soul you really knew…you go to your school’s “bully prevention” assembly. There, you hear an instructor compare bullies to “sharks” and victims of bullying to “turtles.”
It’s just one of the injustices that fuels Victoria’s steel determination to change our twisted bullying culture.
Since Daniel’s death, Victoria has become one of The Monster March’s most proactive teens, devoting her heart, creativity and resolve into the projects she leads. She’s advising New York lawmakers on the state’s first law against cyber bullying, lobbying California leaders to mandate educators and mental health experts be trained in bullying intervention and she now heads the “Cool 2 Be Kind Club” started in Daniel’s honor. Victoria also wrote our personal letter inviting President Obama to join our big March at the end of the year in San Francisco.
She also happens to be one of the nicest, kindest and most thoughtful girls you could know.
Please join Victoria and all of us in the Monster March Against Bullying.
